Cowboy Action Shooting

Cowboy Action Shooting is one of the fastest-growing shooting sports in America with emphasis on period correct firearms and clothing.  All firearms must be pre-1900 or clones of the originals and the clothing must be period correct attire (i.e. no tee-shirts, designer jeans, tennis shoes or baseball caps.)

As implied in the name of the national origination, Single Action Shooting Society (SASS), all pistols must be single action revolvers.  Rifles must be center-fire pistol caliber, lever action, or pumps such as the Winchester, Marlin or Henry 1894, 1866 or 1874s, or the Winchester Pump Lightning. 

Shotguns can be side-by-side, the Winchester 1897 or the Winchester 1887 lever.  No automatic ejectors are allowed on shotguns.  All of these guns are available from any of the major firearm manufacturers. 

The goal of SMSS and Cowboy Action Shooting is safety first and fun second.  We have men, ladies and juniors shooting with us each match day.  There are whole families that shoot together, along with couples and many individual shooters....all gathering together to enjoy a day of camaraderie and fun.  Spectators are always welcome to come watch and join in the fun.
